- Chris FranzekManaging Director – Valuation Advisory - Stout
Chris Franzek is a co-leader and Managing Director in Stout’s Portfolio Valuation group. He has over 25 years of experience providing valuation services to both public and private sector clients, including working exclusively with investors in alternative investments for the past 20 years. He has extensive expertise providing valuation advisory services within the private fund space, including general partners, limited partners/institutional allocators, fund administrators, independent directors and other industry participants. Chris’ experience spans many asset classes including private equity, private credit (performing and distressed), structured products, and venture capital.
Prior to joining Stout, Chris was a Managing Director and the global leader of Kroll, LLC’s Alternative Asset Advisory and Portfolio Valuation Practices. He also was a Managing Director in Kroll, LLC’s Digital Solutions team.
Chris has spoken at numerous industry conferences and has met with global regulators in North America, South America, Europe and Asia about valuation issues affecting the asset management industry.

Chris has over 25 years of experience including as Legal Counsel and CCO for RIA of multibillion dollar fund-of-hedge funds business. Most recently Chris was Managing Director at Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps). Throughout his career Chris has worked closely with investment advisory clients on matters such as: establishing compliance and operations infrastructures, identifying and addressing risks and conflicts, operational due diligence, mock regulatory examinations, and preparing for and navigating regulatory examinations. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker on panels on all matters related to GRC. Chris has a BS, and MBA from American University, and JD from St. Thomas University School of Law.
